About the Event
Many United Arab Emirates residents do not have to speak a word of Arabic to go about their daily lives, and many of the non-Arabs do not even know what “ahlanwasahlan” means (“ahlanwasahlan is a Standard Arabic greeting which means “hello and welcome” or “nice to meet you." Also, Arab residents, many of who go to or graduated from international schools in the Emirates do not get to practice their own language much, especially the Standard non-dialect Arabic.
With “Sorry, I don’t speak English” we aim to disrupt the norm and bring to you a scenario where no one speaks English and everyone has to figure out how to communicate in Arabic.
Don’t worry, we will help you out, and you will leave with useful Arabic phrases you can use right away!
Pre-registration is required as we are only able to accommodate a limited number of participants.
No experience with the language is necessary. All age groups are welcome!
